The Mississippi Board of Dental Examiners met on Wednesday, April 15, 2020 to discuss options for dental practices amid the COVID-19 shutdown.
The healthcare mandate for Mississippi dentistry has been extended through Monday, April 27, 020 pursuant to the Governor’s Executive Order 1470. This mandates states that all elective dentistry is to stop. The statement from the Board details what is considered elective vs. emergent.
Additionally, the Board voted for the 2020 CDCA dental licensure examination, to approve the use of the CDCA’s new Class II and Class III typodont teeth in a non-patient, manikin-based licensure examination. The Board also voted, for 2020 only, to eliminate the Periodontal Scaling portion of the examination.
